When I was pregnant with my last child, a strange thing happened. Rather than be bitten by the 'knitting bug,' I went organic. All my other pregnancies had me in a knitting frenzy, putting out tiny sweaters n caps, even though I had no clue what I was doing. (Fortunately, the results were actually quite cute.)
But for Savannah, I turned into some sort of organic, whole-foods, green product mama...and then overshot wanting to become vegetarian and landed somewhere vegan. It's not that I am against eating an egg, but I have a hard time with factory farming and the unnecessary abuse these animals have to endure. My grandmother had laying hens running around the barnyard while I was growing up, and we raised them with love and compassion.
Ok, so on this page I will share some of the recipes I have tried and adopted for our household, ranging from toothpaste to deodorant, shampoo to laundry soap. We all want chemical-free, healthier living, for our loved ones. This is a good place to start.
